Once again, it's Friday night and I'm sitting in front of my computer! Alors, c'est la vie! :)
I was flipping through an old diary last night, one of the kind that had a quote for every page. It was one I had kept in middle school, and I didn't realize my handwriting had ever been that bad! Not that it's better now, but at least I gave up cross-writing! I was actually looking for a particular quote and finally found it in a different diary! But as I was looking in this one, I spotted the following:

Four things I'd been better without:
Love, curiosity, freckles, and doubt.

Dorothy Parker is the one who actually said it, but can you think of anything more perfect for a sarcastic Trixie to say?

Today, I was reminded of the reasons I'm very grateful that windows was invented! The program I use at work for the water system is a DOS program. Which is fine, when it works! It was having problems, so we had a programmer come in a few months ago to fix it. Now, it works better in those areas, but we've got new problems. In particular, it's refusing to automatically add the late charges to the water bills the way it's supposed to! Therefore, since bills were due yesterday, I had to go through the list this morning and figure out exactly who hadn't paid yet. Then I had to manually add a 10% late charge to each one! LOL, I'm just thankful it's a small town! If it wasn't, I'd still be figuring! Thankfully, the council has approved the purchase of a new program: one that's based on Windows. I can't wait! Now, if we can only get the fax machine that was also approved, my life will be much easier! *g* Technology is wonderful... when it works!

This has been some week, so far! It's been good, it's just been one thing after another nonstop. Between working every day, going to class on Monday night, prayer-meeting after work on Tuesday, and church last night, I'm tired. I'm glad that I don't have to go anywhere tonight! *g*
The election went well Tuesday, I really don't know why I was so worried! Turnout wasn't too great, which is to be expected when the only question on the ballot is whether or not to pass an extra one-cent sales tax. In a town as small as the one I work in, with a low turnout, I had four extremely bored poll workers keeping me company all day! It was fun, though!
I did get some writing done today, I've actually finished a story! It's probably going to be awhile before I post it, I have a special reason for wanting to hold it! I still can't believe that this one story is turning into a universe, I had only planned one story. But when I got to writing it, it just kept going and going! I'm actually going to use some events I had planned for this story in later ones. For one thing, it's going to work out much better that way than if I try to cram it all into one extremely long one. Now, I'm hoping to get back to my regular universe, I've started that next story and Bobby's crying for his side of the story to be heard. As annoying and persistent as he was as a six year old, imagine him as a thirteen year old! Now place him in my regular universe, right after Helen's suicide atttempt. Suffice it to say, he's not a very happy person right now!
Okay, I'm going remind myself that these characters are fictitious, I'll be back later! *g*

I don't have long to write tonight, I have to be up at six in the morning. I love my job, I just don't like getting up that early! *g*
I spent most of today at church, like I do every Sunday. I'm still dwelling on the service we had tonight, it was one of the best we've had in a while. After everything going on, there was a real need for prayer for everyone tonight. Before he even started preaching, my pastor set out the Mercy seat (for explanations, e-mail me), and almost everyone sat in it to be prayed for after the preaching. During this, we actually had TWO messages given in tongues with interpretations. That doesn't happen very often, but it's so wonderful when it does!
Expect blogging from me about work this week, we've got an election Tuesday that I'm nervous about. I'm not going to be working with it, but I'll be the only one working in the city hall (not counting election people). I guess it's just because this is the first one held since I started working there, but I'll be glad when it's over! :)
I'm going return some e-mails now, then I'm going to bed. Tomorrow's going to be a long day!
